As of February 2026, Ivo Steffens has been appointed Managing Director of Compass Group Netherlands. Since December 2025, Steffens has also served as Managing Director of Vermaat Netherlands. With this step, the leadership of both organizations is now united under one executive.
This appointment marks an important new phase in the integration of Compass Group Netherlands and Vermaat Netherlands. By combining leadership, there will be clear direction and increased momentum to create value more quickly for clients, guests, and employees.
With this news, Compass Group Netherlands would also like to express its appreciation for Marcel Jagtman, who made an important contribution to the continuity and development of the organization as interim Managing Director over the past year. He will now fully focus again on his role as Operations Director.
A Unified Direction
Compass and Vermaat share a strong focus on quality food, entrepreneurship, and genuine hospitality. This collaboration enables the offering of a broader and more innovative portfolio, including concepts and brands such as Join Program, STACH, La Place, and the facility services of Eurest Services.
Additionally, there is more scope for investment in innovation, including leveraging data and AI modeling to better predict guest behavior, optimize offerings, and further reduce food waste. With over 10,000 employees in the Netherlands, both organizations are building a strong, future-oriented hospitality organization together.
